Kenny's frugality with the truth![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() According to Enda Kenny, the Irish people are dumb, maleable and stupid. When asking people to support a referendum vote on something as important as changing the Irish Consitution, it is simply not enough to say “This is about fairness” and hope as he obviously does that people will simply sit back in satisfaction and accept his words. No, Mr Kenny, it takes a little more than that. Although you were not Taoiseach at the time, the same people still remember the utter fiasco of the Lisbon Treaty referendum, when their decision was made but rejected as it was out of line with the government's desire. This latest referendum is not about fairness—it is about giving extraordinary sweeping powers to the government under a thinly drawn guise of legality.
