Free Education for Everyone (FEE) in QUB are taking part in the mass screening of the new documentary THE REAL SOCIAL NETWORK on November 1st. The screening will be in the PFC at Queens University, Belfast at 6.30pm - the screening is totally free and everyone is welcome.

Free Education for Everyone (FEE) in QUB are taking part in the mass screening of the new documentary THE REAL SOCIAL NETWORK on November 1st. The screening will be in the PFC at Queens University, Belfast at 6.30pm - the screening is totally free and everyone is welcome. THE REAL SOCIAL NETWORK is a documentary straight-outta-the-editing-room which was directed by Srdjan Keca, Ludo Fales and Isis Thompson, documenting the increasing use and integral role of social networking and social media in protests across the globe, but particularly focusing on London through the UCL occupation. This screening is the first (and only, so far) showing in Ireland and we encourage everybody to get down to it. "Protest has changed. Between the first UK student protests in November 2010 and the global uprising in the spring of 2011, a new radicalism, fuelled by modern technology, has hit the streets. Over 6 months of government cuts, a collective of filmmakers has had exclusive access to the backroom meetings of a group of London students as they hacked software, occupied universities and shut down banks. In the process, they've helped build the movement currently sending ripples across the globe. The Real Social Network captures the passion, the anger and the technology that has forever changed the game between those in power and us."
