For Immediate Release 13th December 2011 XING CO-FOUNDER, BILL LIAO, JOINS BOARD OF ZARTIS, IRISH SOCIAL RECRUITMENT COMPANY CORK, IRELAND: December 14, 2011 – Zartis, the new social recruitment software service, today announced that Bill Liao, previously co-founder of German social network, Xing, will join its Board of Directors. Liao will be joined on the Board by Irish entrepreneur, Jonathan Grey. SOS Ventures, the venture capital and investment firm managed by new Dragon, Sean O’Sullivan, AIB Seed Capital Fund and Jonathan Grey have also invested in AssemblyPoint Limited, the holding company which owns Zartis. Zartis is an Irish cloud-based software business founded by Internet entrepreneur, John Dennehy. Launched in September 2011, Zartis provides companies with the underlying processes, workflow and tools to attract and recruit candidates through the use of social media. The service is free for small businesses. The market for talent management systems including social recruitment is valued at over $27bn and is growing rapidly. Bill Liao is an entrepreneur, philanthropist, diplomat, speaker and author. The company this year joined the The Sunday Times Tech Track 100, a list of the UK’s fastest growing tech companies. Both Bill and Jonathan used Zartis to help find and hire new talent for their own companies before investing. “We can see that Zartis is at the intersection of three exciting and fast-moving industries – cloud commerce, social networks and talent management. With Zartis, companies can fully exploit the potential of social networks for both attracting and recruiting candidates.” said SOS Ventures partner and new Zartis Board Director, Bill Liao. “We hope ‘SOSVentures’ investment in Zartis will help accelerate the profitable growth of what is an exciting Irish software story.” “I’m delighted that AIB Seed Capital reinvested in our company, and I'm equally excited to welcome our two new shareholders, one of which is from a $140m fund,” said Dennehy. “The funding will be used to continue product development from our Cork office and sell our service globally.” ENDS Media Contacts: John Dennehy Email: media@zartis.com Phone: +353 21 2429486 About Bill Liao Bill Liao, entrepreneur, business mentor, speaker, philanthropist, diplomat and author, is a co-founder of the social network service XING and CEO of Finaxis AG, a privately held company in the financial services industry.
