Jump To Comment: 1 2This is a reason to REFORM the Seanad, not ABOLISH it. Pushing more power into the hands of people like Enda's "gang of four" will not serve the interests of animals in the long term. They don't give a shite about animal welfare, just profits. They'll allow farming practices that will result in more animal cruelty not less, if it increases profits, and they'll encourage industries with little regard for animal welfare to set up shop here.
Animal lovers, don't throw your democracy out with the bathwater. This is a stupid referendum to concentrate power in fewer hands. That won't serve the interests of animals or anyone else on this island!
