Expac Ltd launched its new Internet radio facility at 12:00 noon on Wednesday 13th November.

The initial broadcast was very successful. Listeners first heard a message from Mr Bernard Bolger, Regional Case Worker with the Pobal/CRC Consortium, who said;

“This is yet another important milestone in the development of Expac’s Future Resolutions project, a Peace funded initiative which provides participants with a wider understanding and appreciation of the diverse views held by different sections of society here in Ireland in relation to the conflict. The programme itself was devised by Expac to address the needs of different communities to understand the views and opinions of others in the context of the conflict centred here in Ireland.

The programme then sets out to allow people to build their understanding of, and to explore the reasons underlying conflict and to set this within a European and global context. Expac through this current Peace III funded initiative has developed a Conflicts of Interest programme that can be delivered through e-learning using modern technology, and there are significant potential reconciliation outcomes arising from this development, such as providing opportunities for wider cross-community engagement and providing opportunities to hear at first hand from those with a comprehensive knowledge of the conflict, all enabling participants to learn to acknowledge and deal with the legacy of the past.

On behalf of the Pobal/Community Relations Council Consortium I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Expac and wish them continued success in their efforts to build trust and tolerance and develop positive relationships on a cross border and cross-community basis“.

This was followed by a programme giving an overview of the decade 1912-1922.
Expac Chairperson Mr Anthony McIntyre also congratulated the staff on their achievement, saying that this is a new and exciting chapter in the development of Expac Ltd.
