Irish government wastes over 1 million euro on pointless and biased study of fracking

category national | anti-capitalism | news report author Thursday December 03, 2015 07:37author by Frackture Report this post to the editors

Irish government wastes over 1 million euro on biased fracking study
in spite of world oil prices rendering fracking itself as nothing
but a major loss making and pointless exercise.

the irish government still considering fracking, has bankrolled a dodgy EPA study laced with industry conflicts of interest and costing taxpayers over 1 million bucks with no health impact study included.

The rest of the world realises that fracking, a huge loss maker in the US, currently makes absolutely no sense except as a highly destructive short term ponzi scheme unless oil and gas are selling at much higher rates.

"Hey, I know, lets destroy our sustainable long term tourism industry and valuable clean water resources in order to give some short term profits to some cynical psychopathic capitalists. What a great idea. Lets implement a study dominated by captive industry insiders to help sell this toxic waste policy to the gullible citizens"

You have to marvel at the kind of amoral c*nts / idiot muppets that we end up overpaying to look after our best interests and how broken is the system that got them into such a position of responsibility.

Furthermore, it took a FOI request by an anti fracking activist group for it to come out that some of the original researchers from QUB had been replaced by more industry insiders. So the Dail committee itself would not have been in possession of the true facts about the study except for the efforts of activists.

Here's a taste of the discussions at the Dail committee:
