A privately owned, UK company called Working Links (in connection with an Irish company call FRS Recruitment), is operating a subsidiary in Bray (JobPath). This company have a clause in their contract that means if the DSP do not refer sufficient numbers of unemployed people to them there is a penalty/fine for the DSP. This situation is not unique to the Bray area it is happening wherever there is a private (mostly UK) provider in the area.
In Bray the Working Links (formally Working Links (Employment) Limited) subsidiary is branded as Turus Nua/JobPath

So I thought I would ask the question who brought in Turas Nua and what do people think about private companies becoming involved in unemployment? I'm really interested in hearing your views. What I want to know is who is directly responsible for this? We tend to emulate English models in this country and with the the film I am Daniel Blake out at present I think it's very relevant.

How much will this end up costing the state? There is no difference between Turas Nua and the local jobs club or Intreo except you are treated better in the local job club. You have more options available to you at the job club.
Merger of state and private corporations = fascism
Most people are looking to work not to be exploited

I have had the misfortune of being a ''customer'' of Turas Nua - i wasnt happy with them either, they tried to push me onto zero hours jobs, constantly got me to fill out questionaires,i was forced onto a course for 3 and a half hours sitting,i thought i was going to get deep vein thrombosis from all the sitting...i dont have a lot of funds to be travelling either and they excessively call me into meetings at the drop of a hat, they havent even reminbursed me for any travel yet and its been over 6 weeks,i have since got a job off my own bat,but when i did get interviews before while i was on turas nua i was hassled for details like they didn't believe me,they rang my interviewer, and they hassled me when i finally got a job, honestly it was relief even to get them off my back...Walking into Turas Nua the first time - it looked like a call centre, they even had a WHITEBOARD with marker, marking down how many people they pushed into ''work'',zero hours it doesnt matter,if they push you on to 0 hours - they get commission for each client/customer they push onto zero hours even! Its a social welfare fiddle too,bc when i was with Turas Nua i still had to sign on in the post office - yet technically i was not an ''unemployed person'' as i was a ''customer'' of Turas Nua!So social welfare got me off their books! Nice set up!
