Leaving the EU, Ireland will regain sovereignty, get its wealth back by repossessing its natural resources, fisheries and sub-terrain assets. Recipients of both the UK and Irish retirement pensions will note the recent UK increase is twice the percentage of the paltry Irish increase. Who said Brexit would make people less well off? Ireland is a nett contributor to the EU and when the UK leaves the union, the State will, under duress, pay more. That’s a given while Leo Varadkar is Taoiseach, having made that promise during his recent EU Parliament speech. |
