Press Release - Friends of the Irish Environment 5th July 2019 Concerns that Ireland could meet its renewable energy targets by propping up Estonia’s oil shale industry with biomass co-firing Environmental campaigners in Estonia are deeply concerned that Irish government could end up purchasing Renewable Energy Credits from future co-firing of wood in the country’s three oil-shale fired power stations, which are responsible for 90% of Estonia’s CO2 emissions and make it the EU’s top greenhouse gas emitter per capita after Luxembourg. |

The climate is changing but it is not humans causing the majority of it.
It's a cynical cashing in on ignorance and a political power grab.
of the 0.04% of the atmosphere that is carbon dioxide
only 3.4% or so of that is due to the actions of humans
That 3.4% includes all the emissions of china, america, US military etc etc
So Ireland's emissions are a complete gnats fart in the scheme of things
Yet we are all expected to endure a carbon tax and buy electric cars and cut down on our
clean regulated agriculture.
Meanwhile the EU goes for a mercosur deal that will increase felling of the rainforests.
and result in cheap crappy hormone laced beef being transported 6000 food miles in diesel powered ships
to compete with our regulated high quality low food mileage product.
And the Irish now will be importing wood pellets from all the way around the planet in Australia
for our electricity generation to sidestep EU emissions fines. There is no sense to it. And as for being more green?
Well the only thing green about all this is US for accepting the anthropogenic explanation for climate change as fact, and accepting that these greenwash solutions and carbon tax nonsense will somehow stop or even reverse climate change one iota without questioning all this nonsense rigorously!
Nothing we do in this charade will make one iota of difference to climate change but the ordinary paddies somehow think it will. Such is the effect all this continuous climate change propaganda has had. Take a straw poll and ask them. A surprising number seem to actually believe this. All for want of some basic maths.
But meanwhile all those cynical carbon taxes will affect the poorest in society disproportionately
and they will be pushed off our roads as they will not be able to afford to buy expensive new electric cars!
All for what??
Polly Higgin's quest to establish an international crime of ecocide.
Extinction Rebellion activists are blocking traffic in the Strand/ entrance to the the Royal Courts of Justice with a massive boat parked outside called the Polly Higgins in memory of the Scottish barrister who died this year. Her pioneering work lives on!
