All around the world airports are being built and enlarged in countries which appear to realise the 'climate crisis' is just a load of nonsense. But not in poor, gullible Britain.

The local election results are as terrible for the Conservatives as feared and thanks to Reform they would have been lucky to have had only a 1997-style wipeout, says veteran pollster John Curtice.

Cooley Environmental and Health Group - Planning Meeting.

Workshop

Planning is getting underway for the fifth annual winter workshop of the present series being organised by Cooley Environmental and Health Group.

It was decided before the Summer that the theme for next year’s "winter workshop" is "Organisation and Health." The event (if it takes place successfully) will be the fifth annual winter workshop organised by the Cooley Environmental and Health Group. Our winter workshops have taken place regularly in January of every year since the beginning of the millennium and keeping them going has become something of an obsession/compulsion with the Group.

Readers of the Democrat will recall that the titles of the previous workshops were:
· Safety
· Energy
· Personal Energy
· Fabrication, Machinery, Dundalk and the Environment

In recent years we have been grant aided by the Louth County Enterprise Board in running the workshops.

In spite of the fact that the topics we covered in the last four or five years are of crucial importance in this locality (and everywhere else) there was very little public involvement in the workshops. So we are trying to improve that aspect of things for the workshop on "Organisation and Health" which is now in the early planning stage. The workshop is due to take place on the afternoon of Saturday 29 January 2005 in The Strand, Omeath.

Everyone belongs to more than one organisation. What makes a healthy organisation? Another aspect of the topic which we hope to address is the way in which health services (including mental health services) are organised.

We would welcome suggestions from readers of The Dundalk Democrat about possible new ideas or about speakers that they would like to hear on the subject. Contributions could be made through the Cooley Environmental and Health Group’s website www.cooleyehg.com or by phone to 087 9739945 or directly to me by ordinary post.

Better still, anyone interested is welcome to attend the next meeting of Cooley Environmental and Health Group which is fixed for Tuesday 21 September 2004 in The Strand, Omeath, commencing at 8.30 p.m.

Yours sincerely

Sean Crudden
TREASURER
