Where to for British anti War politics?

category international | anti-war / imperialism | opinion/analysis author Tuesday January 10, 2006 22:26author by charles dickens Report this post to the editors

British anti-War politics has taken an interesting turn over the change of Year.
The leader of the largest "anti-War" party has resigned his position after being exposed as a soaked up rickety wreck alcoholic.
Meanwhile the umbrella of interests in British politics which work through the "Impeach Blair" or "Stop the War" coalition have called upon a retired general to voice their concerns, and the former extreme left candidate Gorgeous George Galloway has decided to go to Big Brother.

Doesn't it make you think?

Well, obviously if Charles Kennedy had gone on Big Brother whilst he had the chance we would have seen more than a six pack. & naturally none of us are to excited by the prospect of Galloway tending the hens, ( I confess to not having seen BB in a long time & know not if poultry are still a rite of initiation)
or sipping celebrity cocoa in his pyjamas.

I hazard the opinion that the slow and attritious talk of withdrawl from Iraq, and equally attritious and slow talk of war with Iran has - - - coupled with the election of Blair to his self confessed last term.
Ooops that clause was bundled. I wanted to slip in the Conservative youngster. The sort of man who convince a general to blog the woman's hour and Guardian.

The withdrawl from Iraq and the attack on Iran.- - - The tory - - - the general - - - the brave new Israel - - - wow. the War is history now. i can't really "say anymore".

The British "anti-War" movement has suffered from the same malaise at end, as the British "anti-Poverty" movement.

Its going cool. ITs going wet. Its going what we in indymedia (saormhain eirinn) land call BB.

IN the time it took to write and post the theory that the war in Iraq is 'history', there's a good chance that another handful of coalition troops got killed or wounded. And God only knows how many Iraqi cilvilians.

The war won't be history until the people make it history.

Stop The War.

Irrespective of the human shortcomings of Kennedy (he is an addict and was abusing drink, an illness suffered by many in Ireland) the LibDems had an honourable position on the Iraq war.

Galloway refused his MP sallary whilst in the Big Brother house, where he managed to stay for 21 days. He also managed to pick up about $270,000 damages on the same day he was voted off the show when a court upheld Galoway's damages from the Daily Telegraph in 2004 over a story claiming that he received money from Saddam's government. The newspaper appealed, claiming its 2003 story had been in the public interest. Three Court of Appeal judges on Wednesday rejected the appeal, and said Galloway should keep the damages.

And the Liberal Democrats still haven't elected a leader, and have indeed been a tad touched by scandal.

One of their leadership hopefuls Mark Oaten managed to convince everyone he wasn't a rickety alcoholic like mr Kennedy before, but unfortuantely for the voters, he had a taste for rent boys. This morning's revelation is that Simon Hughes (another front running candidate) has had both "homosexual" and "hetrosexual" experiences. Which is normally termed "bisexual" but he didn't use that word perhaps being mindful of the "lurve - love - eros - caritas" thing and not having given up on the kathurlik floating voters. Hughes has previously gone on record a denying he was / is gay, and thats why "B-i-s-e-x-u-a-l" is our word for the day.

in a statement to Associated Press Hughes has said :-
"I believe that people have a right to a private life, providing that their private life does not impinge upon their public responsibilities.

"I have always maintained that someone's sexual orientation should not be a barrier to public life in modern Britain.

"I strongly believe that people should have a right to personal privacy.

"I do not believe that anything that I have done has impinged upon my capacity to serve my constituents or fulfil any of the roles that I have sought, undertaken or am seeking for the future."

coz they're cool.
http://www.rte.ie/news/2006/0210/britain.html
its in Scotland. Thats where they're strongest oddly enough, thats coz many of them are infact not bisexual esperanto speakers or shaky alcoholics like they try and make out, but in fact retired members of the intelligence communty, of course the smart arses amongst you will remind us that they also boast quite an "ex SAS" contingent, but they live in the west country of engurland and never go over the border unless its to kill with license.

lovely poeple the brits.
