Challenging DCC's non-collection
Locals met again this morning from 10am opposite Clan na Gael at the New Houses in Ringsend.
After 10.30 the bin lorry came around the corner as usual, met by a cheer!
The Postman was out and about delivering the Bills to householders for the Dublin City Council. Some people have demands for over E700.............
Locals continued to throw excess bags on board the bin truck. Very few bins were rejected this morning.
Last week the local garda said that the actions were a civil matter and said that the gardai would not use the injunction on locals who were disposing waste on the bin truck.
As usual there was much joviality and people are welcome to come down next Tuesday at 10 O'clock to Bremen road opposite Clan na Gael.

Following the truck!
No bag left unturned.
Monitoring the situation.....
No doubt lot of those bin tax demands ended up where they belong- in the back of the bin truck.
the green recycling bin, perhaps!
Great to see - we are doing our best on this side of the city , too :
this issue , and the protest against it , is bringing people together - one good result from this bad idea !
We should keep our protests going - there are , no doubt , bigger issues (and costs!) which the system will throw at us in the future ; at least now they know that we are not all sheep .

Well done to the Communities in Cabra and Ringsend. We are now into the 5th week since the Council made the announcement that the whole of Dublin City would be effected by non collection within 4 weeks.
At the monthly Council meeting on the 6th of Feb over 200 people turned up at City hall to voice their protest over non collection and to support the motion that was on the Agenda. To collect all bins in the interest of public health and also because the legal process is not exhausted. It was defeated by 18 votes to 15 votes. Needless to say the Lab/FG/PD/Green coalition voted it down.
Our case will be heard in the Circuit Court on the 20th of March.
