Justin Trudeau wants to prorogue Parliament to buy time before the election. Voters will punish him for it, says Prof James Allan, but it's a mistake he must be allowed to make without activist judges getting in the way.

At least the current fundamentalist lunatic (Ahmedinijad) in charge of Iran does not engage in deceptive diplomancy. He is a blatant anti-semite and if he aquires the means he would have little problem setting out to the destroy the culture and civilisation we live in.
What I Don't understand about your antiwar contributers is that they fail to grasp the extent of this islamic fudamentalist tide that is sweeping the world.
Be under no illusions, the free speech you cheerish will be extinguished, our women will be made into burkah wearing secondclass citizens while the Kalif of Tehran will reverse our 1000 years of scientific and cultural endevours.
Iran is country of ancient culture and wonderful people. Although there were problems with the Shahs' regieme I'm sure many Iranians long for those days of realitive freedom and enlightment. I do agree war should be avoided at all costs and maybe western intelligence services should make a concerted effort to end the reign of the fundamentalists. But when the nuclear stick is being shaken at you, you have little option but to decapitate the fundamentalist beats.
