No! 2 Lisbon Greets GAA Fans in Omagh

Ógra Shinn Féin targeted Sunday’s decisive GAA national league match, Tyrone v Mayo at Healy Park in Omagh, to build up popular opposition against the Lisbon Treaty.

Several thousand information leaflets where handed out to the thronged crowds attending the match, and a banner stating ‘No! 2 Lisbon ’ was erected at the front gate and also inside Healy park when the match kicked of.

Throughout the course of the ‘No! 2 Lisbon ’ campaign, Ógra Shinn Féin will be targeting GAA matches, as well as other significant sporting events across Ireland .

Speaking at Healy Park , National Organiser of Ógra Shinn Fein Barry McColgan said,

“The Lisbon Treaty would have a hugely negative affect on Ireland and its people. It would reduce our powers in Europe considerably; it would erode our neutrality, undermine workers rights and damage public services.”

“Ógra Shinn Féin will be targeting GAA matches and significant events throughout the course of the campaign, and we targeted today’s match to highlight the Lisbon Treaty to the thousands in attendance, and to urge the hundreds of travelling Mayo fans to vote No!”

“We received a hugely positive response from the crowds at Sunday’s match, and with proactive work on the ground, popularising opposition against the Lisbon Treaty, we can win the vote. In the months ahead, the message will be very clear at GAA matches, No! 2 Lisbon !”

I’m writing you from Germany and we all hope you have success by stopping the EU Treaty! And I hope you can forgive my miserable English, too.

We don’t have a right on a referendum and though our best wishes are with you and your campaigns. In all over Europe the people standing close to another for stopping this unholy thing called EU Treaty. We all know about the consequences and now it is time to build bridges between the people all over Europe.

This is the Europe of the European People and not the Europe of the European Industry and Warlords.

Here in Germany, Austira, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway and some other countries people go out on the streets for standing against our Governments.

Take a look here: http://de.youtube.com/watch?v=5sIgyX0jeuI&feature=related

Although there is a legal accusation against members of the German government, including chancellor Angela Merkel and president Köhler and others, because of high treason.
That is because the government, incl. chancellor Merkel and all of her ministers, are handing over the national souvereignity of Germany to an undemocratic organisation calling itself the European Union.

This governmental action is forbidden by the German Grundgesetz in several articles.

High Treason in our law is defined as “ using violence to remove the democratic organisation of the state.” The Merkel Administration uses its power over the state media - and their associated private media corporations, such as Bertelsmann corporation , Springer Verlag and others - to silence the democratic opposition against the EU Treaty of Lisboa and to deconstruct the democratic German state and replacing it by a nondemocratic organisation serving economic interests of a few corporations only – but not the peoples interests and their legal democratic rights.
The abuse of media power and the silencing of the legal opposition in the media of the state is, in the opinion of the informers of the state prosecutor, violence.

In fact no country of the forthcoming EU totalitarism will have any significant or fundamental rights to reign itself through the will of the People. But the will of the people is the fundamental of every democracy. It is ignored by the EU and, as far as Germany is concerned, the German government, too. You can follow the links at the end of this text to read about the concerned laws and the charge because of high treason in Geman.

Danke Stephan. Entschuldigung meine Grammatik. Alles Gute!

Translation:

Thanks Stephan. I believe in friendship, interaction and co-operation between the peoples of Europe; but the EU is not a necessary vehicle for this aim to be achieved. It is a pity and a scandal that no popular referendum occurs in Germany, France, Netherlands and so on. The self-styled democratic politicians are afraid of a popular democratic vote.In Ireland we hope that we are holding a good national discussion and hope for a No result in the referendum. Sorry about my German grammar. All the best.

Lets be totally honest about the NO vote. It was a mix of disenchanted groups from farmers, fishermen, anti government, frustrated middle class, republican militarists and right wing vested interests. As an Irishman who struggled with making our decision I finally came to the decision by reading fairly straigtforward documentation from our referendum commission. The information was available but I am afraid we have become a lazy electorate. We preferred to listen to the claims and internalise them into our own problems. We deserve to face the consequences of our actions. We pride ourselves on being educated but I believe we showed our ignorance. Confusion won the day because we allowed ourselves to be directed. I believe we deserve to bear the consequences of our inability to grasp fairly straight forward arguments and allowed ourselves to be confused by the NO campaign. Unfortunately the consequence of our action may not be apparent for our own generation but our children will rue this vote. Europe won't be wagged by the Irish tail. Rightly so. We deserve to be left on the sidelines and we will be - eventually. The NO voters will abdicate responsibility when the consequences unfold. But history will be the final judge.
