news report

Fianna Fail has made gains at the expense of all parties including its coalition partners The replacement of Bertie "Liar Liar Pants On Fire" Ahern with Brian "Biffo" Cowen has led to a boost in popular support for Fianna Fail. "The change in leadership has provided a big electoral boost for Fianna Fáil and re-positioned the other parties, according the latest Irish Times /TNS mrbi opinion poll published today. A shift in political attitudes is taking place. The departure of Bertie Ahern, the dominant personality in Irish politics for over a decade, was timely. Despite the long goodbye in the glare of the most favourable publicity, some 70 per cent of voters - 62 per cent of Fianna Fáil supporters among them - believe that he was right to resign. The vast majority of voters also believe that he has further questions to answer about his personal finances. |

S.F is now insignificant in the South.
F.F. and Labour does it better.
Mary Lou was pretty good on the Moncrief show today though wasn't she? The working people who will lose out because of Lisbon wouldn't want to be relying on FF and Labour to care about them. They are lining up with IBEC instead.
Sinn Fein support has fallen because people in the Republic of Ireland do not see any benefits in the policies.
Once the six county situation resolved itself their main reason for existence was gone.
The problem is of course that sooner or later their supporters in the North will realise how they have been sold out.
The departure of key activists from Sinn Fein to Eirigi has caused major problems for SF particularly in Dublin.
Is this article about sinn fein? or the "Libson" treaty? If it's just a place for the sour grapes brigade to say how awful sf is then maybe the title should be changed.
How about: "Gerry A ate my hamster?"
Don't think S.F poll rating is too significant
those of us on the No side are only getting our second breath there is lots of time yet.
Looking at the Sinn Fein position is a bit like the Labour Party taking
credit for the successfull Divorce referendum in 1995.
The result did not do them any significant benifit in the subsequent general election.
Those of us on the No campagain do not expect or require grattitude
after our efforts are completed.
Sinn Fein = no support.
(if you believe this shit you need your head examined)
