Oh my, they have.
Coiste have been working with this idea since one of its first (if not its first) youth camp. Seamas your point is ridiculous, the proclamation has been around for 92 years, eirigi two, they dont have a monopoly on it. Though I do commend their popularisation of it, this benefits all republicans.
Sinn Fein youth is mixing with Arthur Scargill and the older ones with Bush, will Bush be on the bus for Bodenstown???
Hi,
I´m very happy because the amazing work Ogra SF, and Eirigi have being doing up to now.
Hope we could do the same in Italy.
Remember, we went after the votes and we lose any space in the italian parlament.
Don´t make the same mistake, continue fighting for the resistance.
Viva la Repubblica! Viva il Socialismo!Viva la Rivoluzione!
And as El Che said:
Hasta La Victoria Siempre, Patria o Muerte!
Great to hear from you again, we were worried as we hadnt heard anything in so long. Hope your well.
Just wondering as he may have to explain why the resources of ireland will be sold back to the people in the north in a double tax.
Water Charges are coming in if OSF remains a youth wing of the pro-bush, pro-imperialist organisation it has forfeited its revolutionary credentials, if it ever had any.
Maybe someone should ask Scargil if he would support such an immense attack on the working class.
Maybe the retention of academic selection at 11 for 3 years then its replacement with academic selection at 14 might be another question to ask?
fight for a socialist united ireland not the dominance of sinn fein.
Oh and on the water charges, let the battle commence.
Hi Oisin
Looks like an interesting weekend. Just wondering what the Coiste initiative was in relation to the Proclamations. I did some work with Coiste in Dublin over the years and they did much valuable work particularly at the start. Indeed I was reminded of it when I heard the sad news of Brian Keenan's passing as he spoke at the opening of the Coiste Office in Dublin back in 2000 i think it was. Perhaps old age is getting the better of me, but I don't recall Coiste doing a specific initiative in relation to the Proclamation. Perhaps you could elaborate. Maybe its a retrospective claim from some of the oldies like myself who are trying to keep some of the younger bucks away from Eirigi. I certainly think it is a valuable initiative by eirigi and hopefully other groups with borrow some of their ideas too. Is this what the indefatigable Declan Kearney means when he speaks at such length and frequently of 'synergy in struggle'. Have you invited any representatives from other republican groups to address this section of your conference? Anyway best of luck with it.
Just for the record this is not actually a coiste camp it is solely organised by ÓSFwith help from the local party.
Coiste had it as a theme for one of its first youth camps. I think it was under the "processes of nation building" initiative rather than being a wide reaching campaign. Young republicans including then kids of prisoners sat down and discussed what the proclamation meant what it would look like if written to day in the language of young people etc. wasnt involved myself but heard it was a very good session which got people thinking about what they meant by republicanism, which can only be a good thing.
hi
was wondering if the evnet is open to young anarchists, i know a few from s armagh who might be interested in goin!
The event is completely open to anyone who wants to particpate positively. If they are local dunno what the deal is with the cost, I know places are limited with regards to accomodation.
Well done Oisín. OSF have put together a good looking weekend. Excellent choice in Arthur Scargill as guest speaker. Glad to see Ógra haven't forgotten that our struggle was for a SOCIALIST republic. The boys and girls on 'the hill' could do with a reminder when they are introducing privatisation, water charges, cuts in public sevices. Hope to see Ógra at Stormont on 16th June to protest against the OFMDFM's grotesque invitation to mass murderer Bush.
