Brian Cowen to address Fianna Fáil Grassroots in Dublin today

category national | eu | news report author Sunday June 08, 2008 12:55author by Amy Winehouse Report this post to the editors

Many NO supporters expected to attend

The Taoiseach Brian Cowen is to attend a rally today to steady the resolve of Dublin FF supporters in a last ditch effort to get them to support the Lisbon Treaty. The event will take place at 2PM at the National College of Ireland in the IFSC.

The last ditch rally is an echo of the same tactic which was carried out last year in thegeneral election the Sunday before polling day.

Sources in the NO campaign said they would make their presence felt at the rally, to protest against the militarisation of the EU, amongst many other issues.

THE National College of Ireland in the IFSC is a straight five minute walk from Connolly Station, just where the new pedestrian bridge is, near George's Dock.

The cop decided that it was up to him what is and isn't legal, and even if there was no law against something, and if he had received a complaint about something, then he could still stop it.

He was also of the opinion that it was illegal for someone to take a picture of someone else, e.g. him, in a public place.

These two false beliefs were corrected by the NO campaigners, but not before he threatened arrests and had to be advised, strongly, to phone his boss in Pearse Street.

It was pointed out to him that he should a) have his shoulder numbers visible, and
b) find something better to do.
