Latest Lisbon Poll - No85%... Yes9%..(6% donno)

category national | eu | news report author Tuesday June 10, 2008 08:44author by paul o toole Report this post to the editors

Ireland AM T.V. poll.

In the lead up to the end of the media campaign which ends at midnight where all media must remain silent on the issue till after the results, Noel Dempsey and Patricia Mckenna went at it over breakfast tv.
A phone in poll by texting was run by the station in which after the morning debate at 8.30 the results were

9% Yes.....95% No.....6% Undecided.......

Keep up the good work.....its only a poll.

It's not a poll. It's a text-in survey. It has no basis whatsoever as a statistical representation of how people are going to vote.

The main reason being that those opposed to the treaty would be more likely to text in their opinion.

Paddy Power have odds of 2/7 on a 'Yes' vote.

9/4 for 'No'.

That's probably more telling than an Ireland AM text poll.

Semantics or not on what the correct definition is.. no matter

A sure indication that we the little people will mke our voice heard on Thursday through the ballot box.

We are living in distressing times when the political leader of this great little country, is unable to speak truthfully about the pro's and cons of the Lisbon Treaty.
His veiled unexplained threats are not the stuff of leadership - we cannot follow the Beer Inebriated Flesh From Offaly until sober righteousness is legion.

Both sides are guilty of putting forward the negatives of a Yes/No vote without explaining it thoroughly.

There's a lot of misinformation being bandied about.

Some of the parties are already making their excuses. Labour would blame Bertie and the Mahon Tribunal. Fianna Fail will say FG didn't do enough. It's a tight race and they sense that they can lose this.

Let's keep positive. It's all to play for. We just have to keep telling people what the Treaty really does, and then trust in them to reject it.

A poll is a poll, an indication, a record of a possible likley outcome, text or not . Every poll has its in built flaws, thats why they are called polls. The only one that matters is the one on thursday

Uncle Gerry said ....'The main reason being that those opposed to the treaty would be more likely to text in their opinion.'

Why wouldnt the Yes camp text into a show and the No camp would?? Makes no sense whatsoever.
Id have thought yessers would text in their opinion to register their approval of the treaty just as much as the no camp, given the pressure theyre under, especially the party members and the pressure from Europe.

Either way, given the fact that less than one percent of people are leaders and the rest follow the majority regardless, I see polls as a positive way to influence the idont knowers if the poll is in our favour.

9%+
95%+

=110%

Presumably it was 85% for the NO side? Looks like a kick in the arse for the Establishment parties and their lick arse lackeys

The simple fact of this treaty (I beg your pardon, this 'constitution'!) is that it is simply just another step in the formation of a one world government mentioned by bush and blair so many times its not even funny. Bush has recently signed a similar constitution with Mexico and Canada. He achieved this without the approval of the senate or the american public (he did the same thing with the Patriot act). The new currency for the north american union will be known as the amero. It will be introduced within 5-10 years. Similar treatys are forming in africa and asia. Once these four superstates are all set up they will combine to form a one world government. Microchips in our skin with stored information such as social security numbers, bank details and a handy little GPS tracker will be introduced. This has already begun. The first family to be 'Chipped' occured last year due to the threat of 'TERRORISTS' . The majority of people on this planet need to wake the hell up. We are rapidly falling into a world in which the common people wont have a say in what laws and policies are passed. Our every move will be watched, our opinions and feelings will fall on deaf ears and if you step out of line theyll simply turn your chip off. And hey-presto you dont exist anymore. Has anyone noticed that the term 'global warming' has changed to 'climate changes'. This is in light of evidence that prooves that not just earth but all the planets in our solar system are heating up due to increased activity in the sun. Yet 'climate change' is still being used as a political vehicle to frighten people into paying carbon tax and the pushing of other silly laws on top of us. OUR OCEANS PRODUCE OVER 85% OF ALL Co2 IN OUR ATMOSPHERE!!!! Were being lied to day after day by the mainstream media (Sky news, Fox news, And all the other fearmonger channels out there) whos is nearly completely owned by Rupert Murdock who happens to be good friends with bush and co. Im telling you this not because Im a fear monger. Simply put, I care about all of our well being and prosperity. I want to have a family at some stage in my life and how can I justify bringing new life onto a prison planet. This is deadly serious and its happening now! Please Vote NO.

The betting odds offered on Lisbon seem suspiciously controlled. They fluctuate between two different rates with no trend discernible. MMmm

The odds are still 1/3 with Patrick Power for a 'Yes' and 2/1 for a 'No'.

That's only a slight difference.

In what way are the odds fluctuating?
