Is 'International law' just a rhetorical phrase signalling our disapproval of a military adventure or does it refer to a set of inviolable rules that all states have agreed to? Neither, says Prof James Alexander.

The "superflu" fizzled out like every winter bug does, but the media and NHS had everyone panicking anyway, say Carl Heneghan and Tom Jefferson. We need less drama and more data; we've all seen winters before.

George Bush to visit Loughview Integrated Primary School in Castlereagh

Socialist Party calls on governors to withdraw invitation

Protest at gates of Stormont from 2.30pm until Bush leaves Monday 16th June.

The board of governors of Loughview Integrated primary school has come under intense pressure to withdraw an invitation to visiting US president George Bush, who is due to visit the school on Monday afternoon.

The Socialist Party received an anonymous tip-off from a parent who is disgusted that integrated education was being used to portray the US president as a man of peace and reconciliation.

Paddy Meehan of the Socialist Party commented, “It is a disgrace that George Bush, responsible for the death of one million Iraqis should be allowed to visit a primary school here. He is responsible for the deaths of thousands of innocent children in Iraq.

“There is major opposition from most ordinary people to Bush’s visit. Parents and the local community have not been consulted on inviting Bush. The board of governors should immediately withdraw the invitation.

Shame on the Assembly
“This also applies to the parties in the Assembly Executive who have invited Bush to Belfast. We call on everyone to join the protest at Stormont from 2.30pm until Bush leaves. Make sure that this warmonger is given the welcome he deserves.”

Great work.

Integrated education needs all the support it can get - and as much publicity so that more parents who want their children educated together can do so.

President Bush has hosted children from integrated schools at the White house on several occasions.

Thanks for your support President Bush
