the real issue who is who paid him?
Crown Casino? ........we shut that one down back in the day!
See here http://www.takver.com/history/s11.htm
Rev Tim good guy but wouldn't come near the blockade.
He had campaigned for years to shut down the casino, wouldn't even shut down for Good Friday.
The gambling commission shut it for 3 daze once the blockade kicked in
Owner Kerry Packer R.I.P. mighty pissed off
We even kept the U.S. Olympic basketball team locked up in the penthouse for the first day, they couldn't train and fled on the 2nd.
Trade Union bureaucrats scabbed and broke the effective blockade getting venue workers in
Vic Labor Party government sent in the riot squad to do their worst and we settled out of court seven years later for their privilege of bashing the shite out of us
I limped away from Crown Casino with a few OZ grand (approx 97 less than Sir Bob for his vist!)
...and that movement got hijacked by the NGO bureaucrats and knighted pop stars and of course a few of the hardcore were killed and badly injured.
But it built character, onward, onward.......
In 1985 Sir Bob was behind raising an estimated Stg£150 for 'famine relief' in Somalia. Unfortunately, the aid was sent to Somalie ports cortrolled by local warlord gangs who were engaged in a crusade against the Islamic groups. In effect the anti-Islamic gangs who were causing the famine and human suffering were given the Live Aid money. Of course this was not Sir Bobs intention......?
About 2005 the Islamic groups strengthened again when the Live Aid money that had sustained the criminal warlords and their crime spree began to run out.

Coincidentally and completely unrelated(!), in 2005 Sir Bob organised Live 8 with the slogan, "Make Poverty History". I personally believe that the idea was to build a public swell of emotion among the young and left-leaning to sensitise them to the intended brutal repression of the Islamic Courts in Somalia, to be carried out by the Ethiopians on behalf of the US and Israel.
Unfortunately for Sir Bob al Qaida suspected the same and the day after his final concert in the Live 8 crusade the London tube and bus bombings were carried out, diverting the focus and derailing any such plan at mass emotional manipulation.
Do these white millionaires know Muslims don't do Christmas? Could Sir Bob and his white Christian pals who belted out, 'Do they know it's Christmas' have been so ignorant. The Somalie people are Muslim! Why did they want to ...."Let them know it's Christmas"? Was it a call to a Crusade or was it a further attempt to delude the western people whose complicity in the proposed repression of Muslims in Somalia was required?
Ignorant or evil?
The vast majority of Somalis are Sunni Mulims. But that does not mean that they support the Islamic Courts gangs which are no different than the other gangs condemned by Bazooka Joe. Look at how they treat people, stoning to death a 13 year old rape victim. That is not Islam, it is savagery.
The other gangs did not pursue an anti Islamic agenda, their only agenda was to achieve power in their area.
Somalias civil society does not need Criminal gangs or gangs that claim to act in the name of Islam. These gangsters are mostly ignorant and could not cite the Koran let alone understand it.
Sure what else can you expect. Maybe when the Irish are in the depth of recession will they catch themselves on. Him taking the money is in exactly the same vein as him taking the Knighthood. His tongues for sale and it definitely doesn't eat cake!
But to bring some much needed perspective to this sorry tale - would our dear Dutch Resident Bono have done any different? Is his giving the finger to everyone in Ireland by refusing to be categorised as an Irish Taxpayer, not more fiscally beneficial that a measly hundred grand - even if it was procured on the back of the starving.
A way of ensuring that these Knights of the Realm and Dutch millionaires pay their dues and don't exploit the vulnerable ,is to tell them, you've turned your backs on your country and the starving - and for bringing the name of Ireland into disrepute - your country is turning its back on you.
Hand in your Passport.
I think, Bono and U two would very quickly become exemplary Irish Citizens - and Dear Bob would donate his hundred grand to the starving people whom he has just spoken about and shafted.
Unfortunately for the US government, the Somalie Islamic Courts is about to reassert it authority. The Kenyan and ethiopians who invaded under the bombs of the Americans have only strengthened the Islamic Resistance and the gangs Bob Geldoffs' Live Aid funded are only a memory now.
At sea the precious oil route is in danger as the 7th ship was seized by pirates in 12 days. Hardly able to hole up safely in their hotels the US backed Somalie government is not able to do much about their former boot-boys gone bad in the Gulf of Aden.

Do the Christians know it's Somalia at all?
I don't understand what you expect from these guys. Yes, he should have refused such a large fee and taken only his expenses - NOT including a minder, for God's sake! - but he was never big in the music world, so perhaps he can't afford it. I remember him playing in tiny pub venues in Dublin - he didn't need a minder then, and he wore a top hat on one occasion. Sin é.
For heavens sake ,to pay money in to a venue in order to see that can of piss with the constant ''blocked nose'' is really one for the books.
The questions reamain what organisation paid the money and how do they rationalise such a payment and such a venue as Crown casino which is repsonible for much impoverishment and how could Tim Costello speak there when he campaigned for so many years aginst its construction?
