Jim Monaghan is launching a book - 'Diego', on Friday, January 30th, in the S.F. Book shop, Parnell squre, at 7.30 pm
Jim met Diego when he was accommodated n the Modelo Prison in Bogota, Colombia. He persuaded Diego, a captured ELN Guerrilla, to write his life story, sent it back to Ireland. The book was first published in Irish, and on Friday Jim will launch its publication in English. It is translated by Inaki Irigoen, and illustrated by Jim Monagahan himself. All are welcome to the launch.

When I knew Jim, he was a dedicated republican working with provisional sinn fein. He was regarded as a quiet, inoffensive individual that attended meetings and appeared to be Rose Dugdales driver. Jim's arrest in Colombia surprised many. Republicans executed drug dealers, they did not want their life stories published. Provisional sinn fein have gone down many wrong roads, stormont and columbia to name two and good people like Jim have blindly followed them.

Just back from it, great event and a good crowd too.

Can't wait to finish the book.
