Great Crack, Ceol, Support and Turnout For Maura Harrington

On a blustery, cold and damp Friday evening, it was obvious that the shell2sea campaign is alive and well and as strong as ever. A big crowd turned up for the vigil/seisún outside Mountjoy Woman's Prison. The support of passing traffic and pedestrians was very evident by the car horns and well wishers and shouts of "Maura Maura" and "good luck" as well as the many expressions of outrage that she is still in prison. A couple of local men even showd up with a large box of hot chips from the local chipper up the road.

Unfortunately I had to leave early to try and get media attenton with some of these images, (I missed the fiddles and dancing etc ) but every time I rang back to the vigil, the music and very lively atmosphere came through loud and clear.

There were people there from Mayo, Killarney, Galway, Dublin and beyond and it was a terrific turnout of support and solidarity shown by a determined group of supporters.

The fight goes on, Free Maura -Shell Out!!
