From handing over the Chagos Islands to compensating Gerry Adams, Starmer's decisions owe more to human rights lawyers than sound politics. He needs to sack his chum Lord Hermer before he shipwrecks his Government.

One figure that has been repeatedly cited in the grooming gangs debate is that 1 in 73 Muslim men in the town of Rotherham has been prosecuted for grooming gang offences. However, this figure is slightly misleading.

Dublin Port Workers Support Group are calling for increased support for next protest march.

Dublin Port Workers Support Group

Protest in support of striking Dublin Dockers

Monday 24th August

10.30 AM

Assemble at the two locations below :

Rays Shop , Sean Moore Road , Ringsend .

St. Josephs School , East Wall Rd , East Wall.

Both groups will march to meet up at the East Link Bridge , and join together to protest at MTL site.

With the strike now gaining momentum, and gaining publicity across the UK and Europe it is important that this is a success, so spread the word and build as much support as possible.

Below is text of leaflet being distributed in local communities.

Support the Port Workers

We can win

This month marks the 96th anniversary of the 1913 Dublin Lockout. Sadly, almost a century later, some employers are still attacking workers rights, hard fought and won for us by previous generations. Workers at Marine Terminal LTD in Dublin Port are on official strike for 7 weeks. They were forced into this by a greedy employer who forced redundancies and introduced new contracts with wages slashed and conditions worsened. If this company succeeds, their tactics will be used all over Dublin and the rest of the country. We must stand together and fight for decent jobs, for today, and for the next generation.

The response from the community has been tremendous. The striking workers have expressed their gratitude, and stressed how much this support means to their morale. Dock workers in Belfast, the UK and Holland have sent messages of solidarity, and have all praised the community backing for the workers. Industrial action, in support of the Dublin workers may soon spread across Europe.

We still have a role to play, and we must maintain our support, and increase the pressure. Make a special effort to support this next protest. Bring your friends, your neighbours and your children. Let them see that we are fighting for their future.
Dock workers for Belfast and Liverpool have offered to join with this protest. Let’s make their journey worth while, and ensure this is the biggest protest yet.

SEE YOU THERE.

A report from todays Irish Times .

Note that the parrot employed by Peel Ports to do their PR is keeping busy . The companies response to everything so far has been to throw out these misleading figures , and ignore the issues and developing situation . I predict that the poor parrot may be forced to expand his vocabulary in the near future.
