Ulrike Farnleitner is a Steiner kindergarten teacher, trainer and advisor. The workshop
explores practical aspects of education, including particularly how to talk and work
with children in a mutually supportive way. Suitable for parents, grandparents, teachers,
childcare workers / students...

Thats pricey!! Theres not many of the unwashed (me self) that could spare 50 yoyos for this workshop. Pity though would love to attend, again participation is limited to how well buttered you are...ill have to eat me nutloaf at home.

Sorry Dandruff,

As far as I know ISKA speakers make part of their living doing these kinds of workshops (most Waldorf teachers work for way under the average childcare salaries) and whatever's left over goes to ISKA to support the development of kindergartens.

Once you have a child you find yourself having to spend money and spend it in different ways. Paying to spend a day with someone who's really experienced is well worth its weight in drink and fags.

As for "again participation is limited", this is the first Soupstone event not to be free or donation-only. The kindergarten has also been used by the alternative parenting group for a free meeting earlier this summer, and in part comes out of the anti-authoritarian kids-parents group, all of whose events were also free.

Most of the alternative birth / parenting / education groups in Ireland are desperately short of people who are willing to put in the energy and help make more of all these kinds of things happen.
