Thur 26th Nov - IPSC Dublin Discussion Evening: NGOs and the De-politicisation of the Palestinian Struggle The latest of our monthly discussion evenings: The Oslo Accords heralded a huge input of Western foreign aid that subsequently played a role in the mushrooming of non-governmental-organisations in the Occupied Palestinian Territories. The resultant 'NGO-isation' of the Palestinian struggle has had visible ramifications on the de-politicisation of this struggle as well as the neutralisation of a large class of Palestinians who are employed by these NGOs. This discussion evening will assess the impacts of NGOs on the Palestinian struggle in particular, as well as the implications that NGO-isation has on social movements in general. |
