Women & the fight against Low Pay, Cuts & Sexism

8pm, Wednesday 10rh March, upstairs in Bewley's Grafton St.

Hear a community worker, Rachel Doyle, head of outreach of the National Women's Council, and Clare Daly, Aer Lingus shop steward and Socialist Party Councillor speak about the situation facing women in Ireland today.

One hundred years since the first international women's day, women still face lower pay, tend to bear more of the burden of childcare and caring responsibilities in the family, and sexism. With the profit system in utter crisis, the vicious cutbacks and attacks on pay and conditions are pushing things further back for women. This meeting will discuss some of these issues, as well as try to discuss how we can most effectively fight back, end the oppression of women and provide quality living standards for both women and men in Ireland and around the world.
