SpunOut.ie a national web based youth organisation, is going to run a pilot project youth activist training programme this summer. The organisation has long held the view that younger people are often treated like 'people in waiting' rather that citizens with a right to partcipate in Irish Society. We hope that through efforts, such as this course and some other longer term projects that we are brewing up here in SpunOut.ie that we can help to facilitate younger people to get active about changing the things that bother them .We think this is really urgent at the moment due to the levels of youth unemployment and disengagement from the political or civic sphere here. We are seeking your input and suggestions for the content of our short courses. We seek input from activists young old or inbetween- details below for how you can share your ideas with us.

SpunOut.ie is establishing a short summer school ‘bootcamp’ that will provide 12 lucky people with the chance to gain all expenses paid expert training on campaigning, media and making a difference.

We are trying to find out what people might like to see covered on this course and if you are between 15 and 25 we would like to know if it is something that you would be interested in joining?.
We would love to know what you think so please send us your comments either on the topics listed below or any other bright ideas you guys have...
- course content- what do you all need to know?
- guest speakers? Is there anyone you’d particularly like us to rope in?
- how can we promote it so we give everyone a chance to apply?
- how should we select the participants?
- what can we use to make it lively and interactive?
- what course materials could be good- have you read or watched anything really inspirational that you’d recommend?
