IWU National Executive condemns Israeli arrest of Fintan Lane

The National Executive of the Independent Workers Union has condemned the illegal arrest and detention of its member Fintan Lane by Israeli forces when they boarded the humanitarian aid convoy to Gaza.

Speaking on behalf of the National Executive, the union’s president Patricia Campbell and its National Secretary Noel Murphy described the Israeli treatment of Mr Lane as utterly intolerable and demanded his immediate release.

They also condemned the murder and wounding of the humanitarian aid workers on board the convoy and offered their condolences to the families of the deceased while wishing a speedy recovery to the injured.
