offsite link The Psychoses of the Established Political Parties Wed Jan 08, 2025 07:00 | James Alexander
The Labour party suffers from a psychosis of not having any ideas of its own from later then 1890. The Conservative Party psychosis is the compulsion to 'dish the Whigs'. That's English politics, says Prof James Alexander.

The protest was called to coincide with the following motion which was on the agenda of the monthly council meeting -

“That this council notes with deep concern the proposal for a state visit to the Twenty Six Counties by the British head of state. Such a visit would be entirely inappropriate whilst the British state continues to implement imperialist policies and commit human rights abuses across the world, most notably in Afghanistan, Iraq and here in Ireland. This council calls on the Dublin government to abandon its plans to invite the British head of state to Ireland and on behalf of the proud citizens of this city we declare that Elizabeth Windsor is not welcome in Dublin.”

The motion was submitted by éirigí's Louise Minihan (a councillor representing Ballyfermot). Due to an overun of another item on the agenda the motion wasn't heard. As there is no council meeting in August the motion will be back on the agenda for the September meeting. éirígí have announced that they will be holding another anti-royal visit protest then. So there is plenty of time to make that protest far bigger than the one on Monday.
