3rd Annual Pub Quiz for Palestinian Students

15 Jul 2010 @ 7:30PM in Break for the Border, Stephen Street, Dublin 2.

(Note: This is not an IPSC event, but is organised by members of the IPSC and we encourage all our supporters to attend)

Date: Thursday, July 15, 2010
Time: 7:30pm - 10:30pm
Location: Break for the Border
Street: Stephen Street (beside Hairy Lemon/Stephens Green Centre)
City/Town: Dublin, Ireland

This is the 3rd annual Pub Quiz to raise money for Palestinian university students (Al Najah University in Nablus) and the Arab Womens Union Special Needs School Summer Camp in Bethlehem.

We have sponsored 10 students (4 of whom have graduated) for a year each in the last two years. Students there have great difficulty in accessing education due to the restrictions in place, not least in obtaining funding to actually go to university. Semester costs per student are from 400US$ to 1000 US$ approximately, and we would like to continue the sponsorship for both the special needs school and the students this year also. We need about 5000 € to do this.

50 € per team of 5 people (10 € per team member), starting at 8 pm. We will have a raffle also on the night, with lots of prizes.

Please tell your friends!

About us:- This is an unaffiliated event arising from a group of us who visited Palestine in February 2008. There were four of us who decided to do something positive for Palestine after the visit, and while it is not a lot in global terms, we feel that doing a little is better than otherwise doing nothing.
