Galway's Radio Pirate Woman will play its part in 16 Days Activism Against Violence Against Women

Announcing the contribution of Galway's women's radio -- FM102 -- to the 16-day global campaign from 25th November until 10th December.

“16 Days Against Violence Against Women,” is a campaign supported by the Women’s International News Gathering Service (WINGS), the Centre for Women’s Global Leadership, and the World Association of Community Broadcasters (AMARC). Radio Pirate Woman will broadcast every day from the 25th Nov until 10 Dec, from 12 noon for an hour or so. As well as live broadcasting, the programmes will be on our web margarettadarcy.com and we shall send some of them to WINGS for distribution. Our main themes will be War, Resources, Economics, and Healing. Our live broadcasts will explore the viability of a Women’s Non-Profit Ethical Bank, lawsuits against members of the government for mental cruelty and distress caused by their propaganda of “pain,” Ireland’s involvement in the Afghan war, and how far the government is implementing UN Resolution 1325. There will also be programmes on women healing themselves, which in turn will enable men to heal themselves. In addition, we will be using tapes from WINGS, Bioneers, and WFmt, relating to our themes. Also music. If any other community stations would like any of our material or research-questionnaires, they are most welcome. It can be downloaded from our website.
