Jump To Comment: 1 2Well we can say goodnight to the classic car clubs for starters.
Alot of people spent hard earned cash buying 80s classics and put them in storage in some cases 4 or 5 of them lancia integrale ford Capri brooklands etc and will be facing huge arrears on them .unfair and disastrous
this is all pushed by the motor federation who want to force people to go out and buy their overpriced cars.what's VRT about?!
Bring in a SORN type system like in the Uk and fine up to a1000 euro if u are caught rather than this codology
like everything else it will fly through
why can you be penalised for having cars that are NOT on the roads ?!
First off ,a name change,ROAD TAX,means it implies I am using a vechicle on a public road. Why should we pay tax for somthing that I /we are not using??
Be intresting to see how they will sort out vechicles that have been long since converted into somthing else, like chicken coops, dog houses, barriers in hedges etc by our thrifty agricultural folk.
Not to mind every other EU country has this advantage for the motorist and a very simple way of telling wether your car is taxed or not.The local council or motor dept issues your liscense plates with the tax disc on the plate.Dont want to use the car for whatever period..No problem..Simply drop the plates back to the council office. When you want the car again, apply for the plates and if there was any back tax due pay then and there.Simple really. But too simple no doubt for this bunch of clowns.
