Tommy is a native of East Tyrone but currently lives and works in county Monaghan. He is a lifelong republican activist who spent 15 years in Long Kesh prison, which included 53 days on the first Hunger Strike in 1980. He has been very active as community and trade union activist and a political commentator since his release. He is the former editor of Fourthwrite political periodical, an organiser with the Independent Workers Union and development worker with EXPAC ex-prisoners support organisation. The talk is based on his book, soon to be published by Pluto Press, of the same title as his talk.

The talk will take place in Gort na Móna CLG, Springfield Road, Belfast.

It will be followed by a traditional music session.
