Despite the multiple cover-ups between the Garda Commissioner and the Justice Minister there still lingers an undercurrent of malpractice and deceit, which could only be resolved with an independent investigation. The astonishing tapes show senior manager John Bowe, who had been involved in negotiations with the Central Bank, laughing and joking as he tells another senior manager, Peter Fitzgerald, how Anglo was luring the State into giving it billions of euro. Mr Fitzgerald had not been involved in the negotiations with the Central Bank and has confirmed he was unaware of any strategy or intention to mislead the authorities. Mr Bowe, in a statement last night, categorically denied that he had misled the Central Bank. The audio recordings are from the bank's own internal telephone system and date from the heart of the financial crisis that brought the State to its knees in Sept 08. Anglo itself was within days of complete meltdown – and in the years ahead would eat up €30bn of taxpayer money. On Thursday 20/6/13 a number of Protestors attended the Dail in Kildare Street to repeat their claims of widespread criminal wrongdoing and corruption within the Garda Siochana (police) and Legal System in Ireland. The Protestors met with members of the Dail (Parliament) who promised to do something about the shocking stories they heard. OSSL claim that their company was a supplier to Shell in respect of the Corrib Gas Project. They allege that acting on Shell’s instructions, OSSL has distributed bribes on Shell’s behalf to parties connected with the project, including the Irish police force (the Garda) who have been the subject of serious accusations of wrong doing by environmental activists protesting against the project. €1,600 billion. That is the figure for Irish Oil & Gas reserves already licensed revealed this morning in a detailed report from Shell to Sea using the energy corporations own reports and estimates. Last week while covering the football in Poland, Pat Kenny's show on RTE radio 1, decided to interview Irish fracker, Oisin Fanning, chairman of San Leon, a company fracking for shale gas in Poland. People contacted the show and demanded the topic recieve balanced coverage and not just a pro-industry rant - eventually RTE agreed to allow Ewa Sufin of the Polish Green Party on air. The usual industry spin and lies being repeated on RTE by Oisin Fanning were exposed by what Ewa Sufin had to say about fracking in her native Poland and why an EU wide ban must be put in place on this industry. The media/gov and industry are not telling people that, in fact, fracking is a major 12 county national issue. This would result in rural Ireland being industrialised by the fracking industry and all the dangers and risks that come with this process. This is also a huge cross-border issue, the same company that wish to frack in the north-west, want to begin operations in Fermanagh. Fermanagh is where the anti-fracking campaign will win or lose in Ireland. Everyone on this island has a vested interest in ensuring that fracking does not proceed in Fermanagh. Kevin Tracey is recuperating from an illness and while he is ill four national newspapers have taken a motion to have his libel case against them struck out. The reasons given by them which are all too common is striking out bona fide cases are that his case is unsustainable, bound to fail and/or frivolous or vexatious. There is no ground taken by them that Kevin Tracey’s case be struck out for “want of prosecution”, due to inactivity on the case due to his illness. This was the previous ground used for striking out six other cases taken by Kevin Tracey for damages against the State where it had been proven that Kevin Tracey had been wrongfully and maliciously prosecuted.
