Indymedia UK article on Mark Stone , aka Mark Kennedy , a police officer who infiltrated the Nottingham activist scene in 2001 . Kennedy/Stone admitted his role after being confronted . Today’s peace vigil at Shannon on 9 Jan 2011 was not a celebration but a commemoration of events that have been occurring over the past 11 years in Afghanistan and Iraq in which the United States waged unlawful and unjustified wars killing hundreds of thousands of people. It also commemorated and offered condolences on behalf of the many prisoners who were kidnapped, imprisoned without trial and in many cases tortured in Guantanamo and elsewhere. January 2011 also marks the 20th of the US led Gulf War in 1991, which led to the deaths of over two million Iraqi people in the decade up to 2001.

Julian Assange interviewed by RT after release of "collateral murder" video
Julian Assange may be imprisoned but Wikileaks is still operational, still releasing the information that Obama and Clinton do not want us to see. False rape charges have been filed against Assange in Sweden so that he might be extradited to there and then on to the US where he would likely face life imprisonment. More likely death as its very easy to arrange murder inside a federal prison.
Those who have collaborated with the attempts to close down Wikileaks have learned there is a price to pay.
Below is a statement from Wikileaks. This is followed by excerpts from other articles regarding Wikileaks.
Amid the hum of words spoken and written here in Ecuador and further afield about the events of Thursday, September 30, two are easily discernible: “coup” and “democracy”. Yet it can be argued that neither concept had much to do with what unfolded on that day.
It would be easy to say that the convulsions that gripped Ecuador on that day were just more of the same. This is a country, after all, that has deposed three elected presidents by different means (none of them impeachment), and at one stage could count 9 different presidents in 10 years.
The mine owners were so greedy for profits they would not put in the proper safety safeguards and this is why the miners were trapped in the first place. The right wing in Chile are trying to exploit the popularity of the miners. see the right wing president at the rescue site. but it was the right wing who supported their hero the dictator Pinochet who slaughtered tens of thousands of union and left activists. if this had not happened the miners union might have been strong enough to enforce safe conditions in the mine and not been trapped in the first place.
