For many he's also a shallow populist that misses the boat on many important issues, oversimplifies complex arguments and fails to provide solutions. In his new book he's gone much further: he condemns a man on death row inspite of the absence of a fair trial. read full story / add a comment

Yesterday I went to the Burger King on O'Connell Street and got a take away meal. I left the joint to meet with my mates in McDonalds. After a few minutes the manager came up to me and took my meal off me saying "next time you eat in here make sure it's McDonalds". He then dumped it in the bin. It wasn't even half ate and it really annoyed me cause he actually threw away my donought which was in a plain brown bag on the middle of the table. read full story / add a comment

As activists in Cork will know, Brian Wallace/David Noone and his motley and tiny assortment of holocaust deniers have been postering the city with their "holocaust did not happen" posters. "Those in authority fear the mask for their power partly resides in identifying, stamping and cataloguing: in knowing who you are...our masks are not to conceal our identity but to reveal it...Today we shall give this resistance a face; for by putting on our masks we reveal our unity; and by raising our voices in the street together, we speak our anger at the facelessness of power..." whether we cover our face or not our evolving revolution shall never have a face. read full story / add a comment |
