A member of Ógra Shinn Féin from west Tyrone had been jailed for 3 days in the past week. Danny Turnbull from Omagh was held in Maghaberry jail in Co. Antrim from Monday 20th until Thursday 23rd. He was jailed after he refused to pay a fine relating to the greening of a number of post-boxes in the Tyrone area. read full story / add a comment

Their will be a launch of a new Sinn Fein Cumann in Killyclogher, Co Tyrone. It is named the Murray/Mc Aleer Cumann in memory of local Vol Kevin Murray (killed in action in Dungannon on 15 March 1974) and my Barney Mc Aleer who was the cllr for the area before his son Declan stood in his place last May. He passed away in Sept 2005. There will be a public launch and social evening at the Dun Uladh Centre in Killyclogher on Friday 24 March, commencing at 8.30pm. The format is rather open and involves a few words from Declan McAleer and Barry Mc Elduff and an address by Pat Doherty MP. read full story / add a comment

been following this a while, really loved the American network pictures that went out of padded sleeveless jacket type twin set girlies holding plackards which read- "Arrest us if you dare Tony Blair!" wow eh? Anyone with half a brain can see that Blair lied in order to scare the British (and world) population to support his position on invading Iraq. Yet no matter the phoney platitudes, dodgy evidence and spurious logic he inflicted upon the world, we knew he was talking rubbish. Iraq was not involved in September 11th, it did not have links with al-Qaida, and it had no WMD. The anti-war movement has been vindicated. read full story / add a comment |
