Governments don't stay in power if they make people cold and poor, but that's a lesson Britain's recent and present administrations don't seem to have learned, as green ideology pushes freezing Britain into fuel poverty.

Never Say Di

category international | miscellaneous | opinion/analysis author Friday July 11, 2003 12:01author by Pat C Report this post to the editors

Marvel Comics has scrapped an idea to portray Princess Diana as a comic superhero.
The company says "upon reflection" it will remove Diana and all references to the Royal family from its forthcoming X-Statix monthly comics, reports the BBC.
(I know its a cut and paste, but I had to share this. I know there are many Di fans here who will be happy that her memory is not sullied by such trvialisation. Di deserves her own live action feature. How about Tomb Raider III, Lara Croft accidently revives Di?)

Marvel scrap idea to make Princess Diana a superhero

Marvel had planned to introduce Diana as one of a team of super-powered mutants in a five-series storyline called Di Another Day.
Her character would have been involved in a satirical look at fame and pop culture.
Writer Peter Milligan had said the princess was "tailor-made" for the series because she was "someone famous for being famous".
No Marvel spokesman was immediately available to elaborate on why it had changed its plans.
Buckingham Palace has declined to comment on the issue.

We don't need to have a comic book story to know that our "candle in the wind" was a real superhero. We miss you Diana, our Queen in waiting, cut down in your prime.

The sneering tone of the author of the above piece is not at all surprising. It is just what I would expect from a republican extremist such as Pat Corcoran. Princess Di was a wonderful, caring person who displayed great concern for the deprived and unfortunate.

I am a Di fan. Thats why I want to see her depicted live action in Tomb Raidewr III. Just think of her in a Lara Croft outfit! It could have a touching end, she could discover that the true heir to the Russian Crown lives and die whilst rescuing this cute little Tsasitsa from a Kryptonite Minefield.
