Buy Nothing Day Galway/ Lá gan siopadóireacht Gaillimh

category galway | consumer issues | event notice author Saturday November 11, 2006 14:51author by Santa Report this post to the editors

We need helpers for Buy Nothing Day in Galway. You don't even necessarily have to do much.
We need people to man (woman?) a stall, people to be at a film screening and barter fair and people to dress up for a street theatre. If nothing else, turn up for the day and BUY NOTHING on that day.

BND takes place on Saturday the 25th of November. We'll start around 12:00.

For anyone who wants to help us in any way, come to Java's cafe (upstairs) at 2:30 on Wednesday 15th Nov.

1pm- 4pm: Barter Fair, Bridge Mills. Bring things to swap!

Please note BND is pro local traders and small biz. We just want to draw attention to consumerism and urge people to think about how they shop, shop less, more local eco and social friendly products, 2nd hand, fair trade etc.
Some Saturday market traders were concerned that trade will be taken away from them, but it's big biz and over-consumption we're against.
