over thirteen million dollars owed Venezuela has an interesting relationship with the energy giant Shell. They actually force them to pay taxes, and when they submit estimates which the govt doesn't believe, they audit them and present them with a bill. Today they told Shell to pay back over thirteen million dollars that the company was trying to weasel out of from 2005. |

Excellent video- can we have more please? Recentlly it's like there's been a news blackout in Erris. This is the first image of the peat removal process that's been seen.
The YouTube link below is to a QuikVid from Rossport this morning. It shows the peat removal in action but also an illustration of the increasing willingness of the Garda to use strong arm tactics against the simplest legitimate political protest. It's clear the relationship between local people and the Garda has broken down due to this belligerent attitude of the Garda. That this strong arm approach is used to defend the wholesale robbery of the natural resources of the country by a private multi-national company supported by a Dublin mafia is a disgrace.
