First off, this isn't exactly new. It's been happening for a long time regardless of the legal situation. Maybe 15 years ago I worked for IR£50 for a 46 hour week because I needed money and needed to pay my own way. Granted I only stayed until I could afford to pack it in but I wasn't the last.
Secondly, not that it means it's acceptable, but I doubt none of us has bought anything that hasn't been produced by badly paid labourers, no matter how well meaning.
