Left of the Dial is Near90FM's new Friday night music programme, 10-11.30 pm - very special guest this Friday (6/05/2011) - the Legendary Van Dyke Parks
Van Dyke Parks guests on Near90FM's newest eclectic music programme
 Left of the Dial Van Dyke Parks is in no uncertain terms, a legend, a songwriter, arranger, and producer who has collaborated with an astonishing amount of artists, Tim Buckley, Bruce Springsteen, Harry Nilsson, Fiona Apple, Randy Newman, Rufus Wainwright, Joanna Newsom and probably most famously the Beach Boys and Brian Wilson, to name but a few. He kicks off his European tour with a performance in Dublin’s Button Factory on the 15th of May. This Friday, he will join Ray Burke on Near90FM for a chat about the tour, his forthcoming series of five 7” singles (each of which will feature original artwork by five of America’s top contemporary artists – Art Spiegelman, Charles Ray, Frank Holmes, Ed Ruscha and Billy Edd Wheeler), as well as lots of other things from his rich and lengthy career.
Van Dyke Park will be supported on the 15th by Clare and the Reasons
