CALLING ALL ACTIVISTS!

Hi,

We, the National Animal Rights Association (N.A.R.A. - http://www.naracampaigns.org ) will be having protests outside both Charles River Laboratories in Co. Mayo, on Tuesday 24th November. We want to make them the biggest protests the vivisection industry in Ireland has ever seen - but we need your help!

We are calling on everyone to make this day a success, so we would like to invite not only activists in Ireland, but campaigners from around the world to attend!

So we can start planning how many cars/mini-buses we'll need on the day, it is vital that you let us know - as soon as possible - if you can make it, or if you can offer transport!

International Activists: Please get in touch so we can sort out accommodation for you!

Local Activists: Please let us know how many activists you can accommodate in your home! read full story / add a comment

When Michael O’Leary joined the yes campaign I thought to myself that this would actually be beneficial for the No side. For most Irish people, O’Leary’s arrogance and clown antics are irritating the best of times. He did not appear to be as knowledgeable as Declan Ganley on the overall text of the Lisbon treaty. O’Leary just kept repeating the same two points over and over again, the Commissioner and taxation. I thought that O’Leary’s support for the Yes side was a blessing in disguise. I believed that his personality alone would drive some people to vote No.

Hi,

On Saturday 10th October, a small group of us will be heading down to Portlaoise, Co. Laois, to leaflet-drop the town about fur farming.

When we're finished there, we'll be going to Stradbally, Co. Laois, for an impromptu protest outside Ireland's largest fur farm (45,000 mink are murdered here every year), Vasa Ltd. read full story / add a comment

Yassamine Mather writes on how the Iranian Regime uses threats from the imperialists to justify the oppression of Iranian workers, students and womens rights activists. Full story at url below.

The dramatic statements by Obama, Brown and Sarkozy about Iran’s undisclosed nuclear enrichment plant, made on the first day of the G20 gathering in Pittsburgh, were clearly intended to prepare the world for a new conflict in the Middle East. But this is old news. US and UK secret services had known about it for at least 3 years - Israel and France also knew about it and delivered their finding to the International Atomic Energy Agency earlier this year. So what was the main purpose of the Obama-Sarkozy-Brown show on September 25? Could it be it was directed mainly to audiences in the US, UK and France, to convince them that, at a time of economic uncertainty, western leaders have to deal with a ‘major external threat’ posed by Iran’s nuclear development?

national / eu / press release Wednesday September 30, 2009 23:00 by Fiachra Ó Luain
PRESS RELEASE - 30th September 2009

There has been a formal call for the OSCE to oversee the Irish Lisbon referendum amid growing concerns that the result of the Irish referendum may be manipulated by postal vote fraud. A source within the Dublin City Council has informed the former MEP candidate Fiachra Ó Luain of efforts by the head of the Franchise department to actively register residents of retirement homes, prisons and even the army.

The source has said that the head of the Franchise department has unsupervised and unregulated access to the postal votes and suggests that there may be concerted efforts to influence the outcome of the Lisbon referendum by manipulation of the postal vote system. This corroborates the fact that the ‘People’s Movement’, who are calling for a No vote, received notice from various county councils of the issue of postal votes the day after they had been sent out. read full story / add a comment
