Predictable lamestream media reviewers had little to say about how The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is rife with current political, sociological, technological and religious implications. The movie is about a 24-year-old, gothic-punk-looking, cyberspace hacker, with an issue with men who have histories or sexual or violent predation. She is on a mission to right the world of a few rapists and killers. This is not a standard movie review. Plenty reviews already exist on the Internet for you to get the gist of the story and its characters. This critique is strictly in regards to the movie and is more about interesting political and social commentary in relation to the movie and some of its reviews. read full story / add a comment

"Left" groups of a similar stamp to the ULA are being integrated into the highest echelons of government in other parts of Europe to act as responsible oppositions to austerity measures . One such group is Germany's Die Link , the Left Party , whose representative Christine Buchholz sits on the country's Defence Committee, a body 'charged with defending “the security of the country and of Germany’s allies, as well as the interests of Bundeswehr [armed forces] personnel on active service.”' Shilton argues that the ULA is seen by the Troika as “a useful safety valve for popular opposition to the austerity policies of the major parties, and a potential future collaborator in government to defend the capitalist system against the working class. “ read full story / add a comment

Leonard Peltier is a Native American serving his 36th year in prison. The events that led to arrest and the falsification of evidence used to convict him have long been highlighted by award winning films like Michael Apted's "Incident at Oglala" and best selling books such as Peter Matthiessen's "In the Spirit of Crazy Horse". Leonard is an example of how a person can be imprisoned but not broken. His struggle is compared to Nelson Mandela's and his message is also one of hope. His prison writings are full of love and belief that his people are stronger than the miserable conditions they fine themselves on the reservation or the poverty many of them find them in cities. Despite his ailing health and diminishing eyesight, Leonard is still a inspirational leader to Native Americans generally and his own Lakota people particularly.
