Jump To Comment: 1 2 3But doesn't it say something about public showings being prohibited at the start of a rental dvd? Watching it at home with your mates is hardly the same as having a public screening in a rented room.
Or do you announce on indymedia everytime when you are going to rent a movie?
1. This isn't a commercial movie, it's a documentary made for RTE.
2. The guy who made it always seemed very nice and accomodating regarding people showing it whenever I met him.
But aside from all that, film showings like this happen every day around the country. Any time an unimaginative member of a college society, trade union, community group, political party, whatever type of club, etc etc wants to organise an event, they'll inevitably go for a screening. It's cheap and easy, the lowest common denominator of publicity events. There's at least 3 on this week in my college.
